Information

Alamogordo, New Mexico

As the economic center of Otero County, Alamogordo has a primarily service and retail economy that draws its customers from tourists and from active-duty and retired military personnel. The city is accessible through three U.S. Highways and scheduled commercial air service at Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport. Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range are two nearby major military bases. By some estimates, Holloman accounts for half the economy of Alamogordo.

Prayer Points

Ongoing unity in our Body of Christ here in the City. Bringing greater love for one another and greater boldness to share His love and truth in our County.

** FYI: YWAM Alamogordo has two outreaches in our community.

  1. Pregnancy Resources Plus focuses on helping young women facing unintended pregnancies in our county.  In New Mexico, 54% of children being born in our state are born to single mothers. The Pregnancy Help Center is investing in tomorrow’s families today.

  2. King’s Treasure Thrift Stores, is a Business As Missions outreach in our community, which has helped fund the ministry operations in our community.  New Mexico is one of the poorer states in our nation, so the stores have helped keep the operations of the Pregnancy Help Center going and has provided jobs for 25-30 people in the communities the stores serve in.
