Founded in 1898, Alamogordo was a stop on the Northern Rail Road, that was going to link El Paso, Texas into Colorado. Charles Eddie, was the founder of the Rail Road and Alamogordo. Alamogordo is located 90 miles north of El Paso, Texas, 60 miles Northeast of Las Cruces, New Mexico and 280 miles Southeast of Albuquerque.
As the economic center of Otero County, Alamogordo has a primarily service and retail economy that draws its customers from tourists and from active-duty and retired military personnel. The city is accessible through three U.S. Highways and scheduled commercial air service at Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport. Holloman Air Force Base (including a German Air Force Tactical Training Center) and White Sands Missile Range are two nearby major military bases. By some estimates, Holloman accounts for half the economy of Alamogordo.
Pray for the staff that they would be able to offer God's hope and grace to every girl in their city who is walking through an unplanned pregnancy.
Pray for the church in and around the city that they would see that it is their responsibility to offer these young ladies God's grace and compassion.
Pray for more YWAM staff to join and help expand the services offered.
